Frequently asked questions
How is this different from LaCie Portable SSD?
Both are travel USB-C SSDs with similar speed classes. Mobile SSD Secure adds password-activated AES-256 hardware encryption (LaCie Secure) and Space Grey styling; Portable SSD is Moon Silver without that Secure encryption focus. Quote the variant your security policy needs.
Does encryption slow transfers?
Hardware AES-256 encryption is designed to protect data at rest with password activation. Peak throughput still depends on the host USB/Thunderbolt port and capacity, confirmed against your workflow on quote.
Will it work with iPhone 15 for ProRes?
On supported iPhone 15 and newer models with compatible OS versions, external ProRes recording to USB-C SSDs is possible where Apple documents support. We confirm device, OS, and bitrate needs on your quote.
